If you ask most MSPs if all their Endpoints are secure, most will tell you that they are.  What most MSPs fail to realize is that most of the printer and copier endpoints are not protected.

That's why HP has developed the worlds most secure printers.  HP markets its Enterprise and Managed printers with FutureSmart firmware 4.5 and above as "the world's most secure printers".

These printers incorporate a suite of security features designed to detect, protect, and self-heal from cyberattacks. This includes features like HP Sure Start for BIOS protection, whitelisting to ensure only authentic firmware is loaded, and runtime intrusion detection to monitor memory for unusual activity.

Key Security Features:
  • HP Sure Start:  Restores the printer's BIOS to a safe, "golden copy" if a compromised version is detected during startup.
  • Whitelisting:  Ensures only digitally signed HP firmware is loaded, and any tampering triggers a reboot to a secure state.
  • Runtime Intrusion Detection:  Monitors the printer's memory while it's operating and connected to a network. Suspicious activity triggers a reboot to clear the memory.
  • HP Connection Inspector:  Scans outbound network traffic for suspicious packets typically used by hackers. If found, the printer will reboot.
  • Self-healing Reboot:  HP's most advanced security features, found in Enterprise and Managed devices with HP FutureSmart firmware 4.5 or higher, can detect, stop, and recover from attacks automatically with a self-healing reboot.
  • Original HP Toner cartridges:  HP also builds security into its toner cartridges with tamper-resistant chips, firmware, and packaging.
  • Quantum-Resistant Technology:  Some newer models, like the HP LaserJet Enterprise 8000 series, include quantum-resistant cryptography and digital signature verification to protect against future quantum computer attacks.
